No "one" person invented the Mac, it was created by a whole team of people. Jeff Raskin(?) was the first team lead of the Macintosh project, but kicked off and was replaced by Steve Jobs.
While it's fair to say Steve Jobs was the driving force behind what turned out to be the Mac we know today, there was a whole team of people who worked on the software and hardware.
Although there were many more people involved, some of the major contributors were:
Andy Hertzfeld
Burrell Smith
Bill Atkinson
Bud Tribble
Steve Capps
Bruce Horn
Jef Raskin
Susan Kare
These days they have largely been forgotten, but without them the Mac would not have been the revolutionary computer of its time. I highly recommend you check out a website called Folklore.org for a history of the Mac's early days.
