Best tropical fish for a beginner?
Hi I live in a flat and so the only pets I can have would be fish or something. I dont like snakes or lizards so they are out!!!
I am thinking of getting an aquarium and some fish. I like the look of tropical fish so I think i will go that way. What are some good tropical fish for a beginner? Oh and fish which aren't too expensive

Tropical fish aren't the best if you are an absolute beginner, maybe you should consider coldwater fish first.
Whatever you do, DO NOT consider salt water tropical fish. Apart from the whole heating aspect, you also have to spend a lot more time maintaining your tank and water quality.
If you are going to go tropical, some of the easiest (and cheapest, therefore no major cost if they die!) would be Platys and Guppies.
Both of these smaller fish are hardy and easy for the beginner. When you get more experience you can move onto the larger, more expensive and maybe a little more difficult to care for fish.
